Transammans

Transammans is the national association for trans people and their loved ones. We are nationwide, with local associations across Sweden.

Transammans was founded as a national association in 2015. We work for the rights of trans people and create change by providing support, advocacy, and education.

By the term trans person, we include everyone whose gender identity differs from the gender registered at birth, such as non-binary people, trans women, trans men, and cross-dressers. By loved ones, we include everyone who is close to one or more trans people, such as partners, parents, friends, and siblings.

Support

We break involuntary loneliness and create community! Through activities and events in several locations, Transammans creates safer meeting places for trans people and their loved ones. With us, you can meet others, exchange experiences, and be yourself. We also have both a national digital conversation group for loved ones and a digital counselling service for those who are trans, have trans experience, are questioning their gender identity, or are a loved one, and are at least 12 years old.

Advocacy

Transammans works to improve the living conditions and health of trans people. We engage in advocacy work through public opinion-building, but also through dialogue with authorities, politicians, and other important actors. We spread information and increase public knowledge about the living conditions of trans people. We also make sure that more perspectives and trans experiences take up space in public conversation, and we are committed to improving gender-affirming healthcare.

Education

Transammans helps companies, organizations, and leaders become more inclusive on trans issues. Through lectures and training, we give organizations the tools to create change and inclusive workplaces. Through our member lectures, presence at Pride festivals, social media campaigns, and our own reports and informational materials, we also spread important knowledge to both trans people and their loved ones.
